NAME
sasidump — SASI
disk dumping tool for PiSCSI
SYNOPSIS
sasidump |
[-C TYPE]
-i ID
[-u UNIT]
[-b BLOCK_SIZE]
-c COUNT
-f FILE
[-r] |
DESCRIPTION
sasidump copies data between a physical
SASI disk and a local image file. In its default dump mode, it copies from
the SASI disk to the local file. With restore mode enabled, it copies from
the local file to the SASI disk.
The disk geometry is not available through SASI, so the block count and block size must be supplied explicitly.
NOTES
sasidump requires either a direct
connection (one without transceivers) or a FULLSPEC PiSCSI/RaSCSI board.
SASI uses a target ID and unit ID rather than SCSI target and initiator IDs. The PiSCSI board operates as the SASI initiator.
Restoring overwrites data on the physical SASI disk. Verify the target ID, unit ID, block size, and block count before proceeding.
OPTIONS
-CTYPE- Select STANDARD, FULLSPEC, or GAMERNIUM. FULLSPEC is the default.
-iID- SASI ID of the target device (0-7).
-uUNIT- Unit ID of the target device (0-1). The default is 0.
-bBLOCK_SIZE- Block size in bytes. Supported values are 256, 512, and 1024. The default is 256.
-cCOUNT- Number of blocks to transfer. The maximum is 2,097,152, the largest addressable SASI disk size.
-fFILE- Path to the image file.
-r- Run in restore mode. Dump mode is the default.
EXAMPLES
Dump a 10 MiB X68000 SASI disk with 256-byte blocks from SASI ID 0:
sasidump -i 0 -b 256
-c 40788 -f ./x68000.hdsRestore that image to the same SASI disk:
sasidump -i 0 -b 256
-c 40788 -f ./x68000.hds -rSEE ALSO
